Volunteer Positions – Social Services

Food Pantry  
·       
Sort and pack food and grocery items. 
·        Stock food pantry shelves.  
·       
Weigh in food deliveries.  
·       
Break down large quantity food items into 1 lb. Bags.  
·       
Report food items that are needed to manager.  
·       
Pack mobile food boxes and personal care bags.

Receptionist
·       
Welcome clients and guest.
·       
Maintain sign-in sheet.  
·       
Issue and receive intake form with required documentation.  
·       
Answer phone.  
·       
Make appointments.  
·       
Pull records and file records.

Interviewer
·       
Client needs assessment.  
·        Authorize services as qualified.  
·       
Provided referrals as needed.  
·       
Broker services with other organizations.

Mobile Program
·       
Collect Mobile Program food and personal care items.  
·       
Stock Mobile Program food and personal care items.  
·       
Pack Mobile Program food and personal care items.  
·       
Fill Mobile Program food and personal care orders.  
·       
Inventory Mobile Program food boxes and personal care bags.  
·       
Report needed items to manager.

Volunteer Positions – Thrift Shop

Cashier
·        Check out customers at cash register.  
·       
Maintain no cost clothing/merchandise documentation. (Green Letter)  
·       
Provide customer service.

Greeter/Bagger
·       
Welcome and greet each person that enters the Thrift Shop.  
·       
Bag merchandise at check out for customers.  
·       
Take price checks to Sorter/Pricer Volunteer.  

Personal Shopper  
·       
Assist customers with shopping needs.  
·       
Provide clients with the list of items received at no cost.  
·       
Fill clothing orders from LICS Mobile Program.  
·       
Maintain Inventory of Natural Disaster Room.

Receive and Receipt Donations
·       
Greet donor.  
·       
Receive donations into building.  
·       
Issue receipt for tax purposes.  
·       
Maintain donation storage.  

Sort and Price Donations
·       
Prepare items to be given away at no cost or to sell.  
·       
Determine if item is needed for the Natural Disaster Room.  
·       
Determine if item is overly used. If so pass on to the Salvation Army.  
·       
Price all misc. items.  
·       
Hang or stack items in sorting room by department.

Inventory Clerk
·       
Stock thrift shop, as inventory requires.  
·       
Maintain high quality inventory.  
·       
Remove aged or damaged items from the thrift shop.  

Display Designer
·       
Display seasonal merchandise.  
·       
Dress window displays.  
·       
Display holiday items.  
·       
Provide easy and safe access to all merchandise.

  

Volunteer Positions – Community Relations  

Receptionist
·       
Welcome visitors.  
·       
Answer telephone.  
·       
Provide basic operation information.

Assist with mailings.  

Tracking Volunteer Hours

Gather volunteer hours from all locations.

Sales Audit
·       
Compare Thrift Shop Sales to Thrift Shop Deposits  
·       
Compare Authorized Merchandise at No Cost to No Cost Sales  

Volunteer Relations
·       
Volunteer correspondence.  
·       
Volunteer training and support.  
·       
Volunteer appreciation.  

Special Projects Coordinators
·       
Meet scheduled groups for community service projects.  

Events Coordinators
·       
Organize volunteers for various year-round events.  
·       
Form committees for developed fundraisers.  

Community Relations Team
·       
Information booths to promote community awareness.  
·       
Marketing/Advertising.  
·       
Media Spotlights.  
·       
Public Service Announcements.  
·       
Photographs/videos.  

Buildings Maintenance Team
·       
Minor repairs and maintenance of buildings.

Computer Team
·       
Receive donated computers for internal use or to be sold.  
·
